Remove the propeller and cutless bearing and unbolted the gearbox coupling. If a clamp type of coupler is used inserting a wedge into the split of the clamp and tapping the wedge with a hammer will slide the coupler off the shaft allowing the shaft to be completely withdrawn for inspection. If a lip seal is fitted great care must be taken not to damage the lips whilst removing the prop shaft.
