Introduction

It's now 1974 and Westerly were outselling every other yacht business following the success of the Centaur and the W31s so they wanted to introduce a larger 36' range and did so with the Conway family designed by Laurent Giles.

The W35s were upgraded and combined versions of the aft cockpit Galway and Medway sisters i.e. both were called W35s and were introduced in 1978 with improved layouts and all wood interiors. The Conway and Solway were rebranded as Conway MkIIs

Sister yachts are Conway, Solway 36, Galway, Medway 36, and the Conway MkII
